Explain the layout and the purpose
Include the length and height of the wall, proposed door position and any shelving, screens or cabinetry that will be fixed to it. Privacy expectations also matter. A drawing of the new layout helps identify the interface with existing ceilings, flooring and circulation.
Clarify who builds the full partition
Framing and plasterboard lining are related but distinct tasks. Ask whether doors, insulation, services and skirting are included, provided by others or still to be designed. Any specified performance requirement should be part of the enquiry before a contractor selects a lining assembly.
Agree the final edges and access plan
