Treat each surface according to its intended finish
The shower area, a painted ceiling and the wall behind cabinetry may have different requirements. Include the current plans and any lining or waterproofing system already specified. Materials should be confirmed for the actual application before sheets are ordered or installation is booked.
Allocate the preparation and related trades
Demolition, plumbing, framing changes, waterproofing and tiling need to be clearly assigned. Ask whether the lining quote includes backing, penetrations and finishing around openings. A shared room schedule helps ensure each trade understands the condition in which their work will begin.
Check readiness before closing the room
Identify the services still being altered and who coordinates inspections or checks. The proposed installer needs to know if the space is ready for lining. Mention access through the home and the fixtures or surfaces that must remain protected throughout the renovation.

Only if that additional scope is explicitly agreed with a suitably qualified provider. Do not assume a lining quote includes waterproofing.
Can the room’s ceiling be renewed without replacing the walls?
Describe the condition and the junction to the existing walls. A contractor can assess the work and protection required for a ceiling-only scope.
